Boone Hall Plantation is the only plantation museum in South Carolina. The Boone Hall Foundation, Inc., which operates the plantation and gardens, was founded by Mrs. James F. Byrnes to preserve the site for future generations of Americans to learn about life in a pre-industrialized society as well as its role in developing our nation’s history and culture.
